has been a part of the CDPA family since the age of 6. She was a member of the Performing Ensemble and a Student Teacher. While in high school she was an active performer throughout West Orange County. She was a member of the chorus and drama programs at West Orange High School. After graduation, she followed her love of the arts all the way to Boston, where she got her degree in Voice and Opera from The Boston Conservatory of Music. She met her husband while attending the Conservatory and upon graduating, ventured to Paris, France to sing for four months. They had a brief stint back in Boston, but they couldn’t resist the opportunity to return to the warmer weather and their family. Kathryn is back in Winter Garden, FL doing what she loves! She is the Music Director for the First United Methodist Church of Winter Garden, an Instructor for CDPA and teaches private voice. She lives with her husband, Michael, her beautiful new baby, Nora, and her favorite dog, George.

    Lisa Backovsky

started cheerleading at the age of 8, and at 9, took her first ballet class.  Having fallen in love with both, they became a major part of her life through college.  For a new challenge, she took up Scottish Highland Dancing as a freshman in high school, and became a certified teacher in 1999.  After graduating from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado with a degree in Marketing, Lisa took a break to go to work for Holland America on cruise ships.  After a 5 year hiatus from cheering and dancing she joined the CDPA family in 2005 as a Highland Dance student.  She began teaching Cheer Dance in January 2009, and enjoys passing on her love to the students of CDPA.  She currently coaches cheerleading for Dr. Phillips Pop Warner and is a Co Organizer for the Central Florida Highland Games Highland Dance Competition. She married her husband in 2007, and in May of 2009 they welcomed their son John Steven Backovsky III (Tre) to their family.
