HAIRSPRAY!!

    Congratulations to former CDPA Dancer, Taylor Aldrich who, while at the International Thespian Festival, was cast in the national cast of “Hairspray”! She was chosen out of a group of over 600 students who auditioned. She will begin rehearsing in Colorado in February.

 

 

Bravo!!!

    Caitlin Snelson received a Highly Commended mark on her Associate Teacher's Exam for the British Association of Teachers of Dancing.

    Caitlin, (the daughter of Director Kathryn Austin) is joining the teaching staff this year and will be teaching Primary/New Beginner and Beginner/Novice Highland classes as well as Jazz/Tap I!

 

 

 

 

 

Another Round of Applause!

    Sydney Harrison traveled with her family to Colorado where she competed against a tough group at the Highland Games.

She placed in three dances receiving a 3 rd , 4 th , & 5 th !!! Way to go, Sydney !

 

Ensemble News !               

    Members of our Performing Ensemble traveled to the Pensacola Junior College Dance Workshop this summer. They ladies stood out in their five days of classes with teachers from around the country!

    Madison McGrew auditioned and received several awards including the Lister Ballet Scholarship, which includes a full scholarship to next years PJC workshop, as well as Runner Up Best All Around Dancer!

    Both Madison & Ellen Brown also received a Tap Video Scholarship by former Tap Dog, Anthony LoCascio!

School of Scottish Arts

    Jennifer Armbruster, Molly House, & Madison McGrew traveled to Lees-McRae College in North Carolina to participate in a one week intensive in Scottish Highland dancing this summer.

    While there, both Jennifer & Madison were awarded scholarships to return to the camp next summer!

    They were joined at the end of the week by Summer VanBuskirk who along with the other three competed in the  Grandfather Mountain Highland Games.
 
    All girls faced tough competition but placed well!
